State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, "Bangabandhu's name is not only in the history of Bangladesh or the world today, but it has also been placed in space, from where no one will ever be able to erase it." Commenting on the tragic events of August 15, like that in the Karbala desert, Palak said, "If we review the most tragic, inhumane history in the history of the world, the second of such a brutal act cannot be found." In his speech, he called upon the leaders and workers of the party to come out of the competition of revenge and establish Bangabandhu's ideology unitedly. The state minister made the call while addressing prayer and discussion meetings on the occasion of National Mourning Day on August 15 by connecting to his constituency through virtual media. Palak said that with his courage, foresight and wisdom, Bangabandhu had wiped out the filth of a thousand years of subjugation, put an end to long-standing oppression and prepared an unarmed nation for armed struggle. Step by step he prepared the people for the struggle of the freedom movement. Through nine months of armed struggle, we got an independent Bangladesh under the leadership of the Father of the Nation. To give a better life to the people of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu devoted all his life to fulfilling his ideals and goals by sacrificing all his comforts. Singra Upazila Awami League President Sheikh Ahidur Rahman presided over the function while local Municipal Mayor Jannatul Ferdous, former chairman Nabi Uddin, Abdul Wadud Mollah, Sarfaraz Newaz Babu, Kamrul Hasan Kamran, Shamima Haque Rozi, Anjuman Ara, Shariful Islam Sharim, Mahbub among others were present on the occasion.
